The 85UR8S uses Hisense’s RGB MiniLED backlight. Instead of white LEDs behind a colour filter, it lights the picture with separate red, green and blue zones. That gives purer colour at very high brightness: 800 nits typical, 3,500 nits peak. At 85 inches, this is a TV for a dedicated media room or open-plan living area, where the screen is the room’s focal point.
UR8S or U7S PRO? The U7S PRO uses a blue-LED Mini LED backlight with quantum-dot conversion. The UR8S lights each zone in red, green and blue, which keeps colour saturated in the brightest highlights. It also adds 180Hz, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. Choose it if picture quality matters more than price per inch.
